This battery is so ubiquitous it likely will NEVER be obsoleted.

It is a 1/2-AA 3.6 volt lithium cell, and these are made in every
populated continent on Earth.

I prefer Maxell (Japan), but Tadiran (Israel) and SAFT (France) are also
OK.

A fresh battery should register about 3.68 volts on a high quality
(Fluke, e.g.) DVM.

In-circuit voltage, when new, is a tad lower, perhaps 3.66 volts.

Nominal is, of course, 3.60 volts.

These will usually work well down to 3.0 volts, and should be considered
"dead" if below that measurement, even if the computer's PRAM is still
retaining all its values.

Allied and Newark and numerous industrial distributors stock this
battery. Radio Shack and some other retail sellers also stock this
battery.
