I don't have any immediate need for the various parts, but most of it I would find a use for eventually (and I can handle storing a large amount of computer stuff). Let the rest of the list make requests and once you feel there's no further interest, let me know what's left and I can probably take any remaining parts.

Hello all,

I'm new to the list, and a PowerComputing owner since 1996. Years ago, while I was in college, I worked in the University Macintosh Lab, which had rooms of PowerWave 604/150's. Only a couple years into their use, the school decided they wanted to upgrade back to Apple systems, and the PowerWaves were dismantled. A lot of parts ended up in other systems around campus, and the rest were stored in a large cardboard box in a storage closet.

The year before I graduated, the lab coordinator finally felt that this box of parts had overstayed its welcome. Knowing I was kind of a packrat, the parts were offered to me. Well, I'm trying to get rid of some of my "stuff", and this box of PowerComputing parts has got to go. I will part with these parts for only the cost of shipping. It would just be a shame if they went to waste.

Unfortunately, I don't have the parts to make a working system. So I can't offer free computers. Here is what I have:

I have several (we're talking probably 20) PowerWave 604/150 logic boards. You can find the specs online if you don't know them. These will take several of the Apple-branded daughter cards (not sure which ones). I put an Apple 604/130 on the board with no problem. These do not come with cache or ROM. I don't have them.

I have several (probably 5) power supplys from the PowerWave 150. Some don't have working fans, but I also have some fans kicking around so I'll replace it for you before shipping. Sorry if it says "DEAD FAN" written in marker on it. It will work, I promise. I have used one with a PowerCenter Pro logic board with no problems, as well.

I have too many SCSI 4X CD-ROM's. These are Toshiba, I believe, and are useless. But they work (mostly). If you want one, great. I'll probably throw these out.

I have several (7?) SCSI ZIP-100 drives in 5.25" size. I can't make guarantees on these because they have the basic ZIP-100 issues that this model had. I've never had one destroy a disk, but occasionally the drive will forget that a disk is in there and you have to pop it out and put it back in. Quality.

Floppy drives. I have lots. They may be less useful than the CD-ROM's, but they do work.

I have cables, fans, and speakers. The fans are the standard 3" case fans. The cables are SCSI and floppy. The speakers are the tinny, awful sounding internal speakers that we PowerComputing fans have grown to love.

I have a couple ATI display cards. These are the stock ATI cards that came in the PowerWave 150. I don't have many, and with a Radeon 7000 being as cheap as it is, these aren't particularly useful. But they work if your main goal is just to hook up a monitor.

I have many 3 slot PCI riser cards. I will ship one with the logic board, if requested.

Please, if anyone finds this stuff useful, let me know. I will be throwing away lots of this stuff in the near future.

Thanks,

Rick
