Hera are the requirements I could think of for a script for renaming
incoming attachments in a meaningful way:

It should

· keep whole original name.
· retain original extension.
· add meaningful data to the original name string in order to distinguish
files with the same original name from each other.
· be initiated by a filter.
· use the filter to move the file to a meaningful place. This would best
be done in a filter as different users could use different places without
editing the script or other files, plus PowerMail would remember the path
in question of the attachment after the move.
· if the attachment was a html-file with referenced pictures they'd be
moved to a new aptly named folder, if there wasn't one already.

Anything else would be needed?
Anyone already have a script doing something like this, that you'd care
to share? As I already mentioned, Cheshirekat wrote "Rename Existing
Attachments", which most likely can be used a starting point to fulfil
the requirements of above.
