Why can't it be folder organized? It could as simple as if there is a naming conflict, it could make a new folder called "2" (or whatever number is needed) and save it into there. Or it could be as complex as a folder for each message with the folder's name matching the Message-Id
To me, having 2,679 files thrown intro one folder is a mess to navigate.
