I used to get very similar crashes. Strangely enough I have not gotten
any since the first of October. This could be the result of one or both
of two things:

1. I upgraded OS X from 10.4.2 to 10.4.3 (and now .4)

2. I got a real job, so PM no longer runs open on the same machine for
months on end (it gets quit every day when I leave for work and then
when I leave work so I can unplug the firewire drive w/my database on it).

Not sure if that helps, but perhaps. I do know that OS X had (still
has?) some threading issues where lots of threads can cause the app to
crash or lock due to a very low-level problem with the threading
manager...and all my crashes in PM had a lot of threads going (usually 20+).
