Your statement is not paraphrasing what I suggested very well at all.
Rather you demonstrate you do not understand, nor do you follow. Snide
and pseudo-clever remarks won't hide that.

If PM doesn't behave the way it supposed to and is making duplicate files
that are not supposed to be proliferating, then the Db or prefs in use
have already broke, just not seriously so. There is an error lurking
somewhere.

If important messages disappears or become corrupt do you hesitate before
you backup and fix the problem? Or do you fix it *before it has become a
serious problem*?
If yes, then you are either naive or are not afraid to ignore what's
actually important to you.
