But the viewing  as of the messages window and as of how the search
window limit searches are two different interfaces and are not
automatically thought of by the average user as reflecting each other. 
If the search window said "among the visible windows" then the current
way it works, that is that only visible messages are searched if one
searches a folder, could very well be acceptable. But it doesn't and this
really ought to be changed in either direction. That is, the search
window should reflect the results to be expected better or searches
should be made among all messages.

Surely you agree with this, your personal preferences aside? I think that
congruency and internal logic should guide the design of how different
functionality is implemented. Besides a few beauty spots I do feel that
PowerMail is quite congruent. But this is one of those areas where I
expect a change to the better.
