To isolate even more:
I'm NOT running Retrospect of any flavor. Switching message to message
takes 2-4 seconds. Switching from folder to folder can take up to 7-8
seconds. Quitting and relaunching PM may have some affect (I've never
noticed one), but if it goes away, the problem re-appears quickly without
the benefit of Retrospect.
