Ok, that seems to work to clear the hard hangs. As well as "Clear cache after disconnecting" No idea why this would have an effect, but I haven't seen a hard hang or beach ball in some days. But I continue to see this 'tar baby' problem : Last night at 11PM, I left the office with PowerMail sitting there with 3 read but un-responded messages in the IMAP in box. This morning I come in and see that there are still these 3 messages in the in box... I push "Connect again"... nothing Several times... nothing Finally I quit and restart PM. On re-connecting, magically there are 117 unread emails. Then, I trash all the spam (manually) leaving 22 messages. Select "Expunge..." All my good messages are ok, but there are still about 20 spams that show as 'deleted', but are still in the inbox pane... Waiting for the next update... michael
