Thank-you to everyone who've contributed to this thread - you've all been most helpful. :) I particularly found Steve Abrahamson's challenge sobering: >...but of course, he wasn't relying on the beta in a real-world >production situation, and therefore everything he did in the beta is >disposable so that he can go back to the shipping version for real usage. >Right?
>From How To Beta Test 101. This is why I needed to get "sober": I should've read the 2nd and 3rd lines of the ReadMe file contained in the 5.2 installer before posting my query and I apologize! However, the list of "Improvements and Tweaks" and "Fixes" in the ReadMe was so vast that it actually caused my eyes to zoom right past those first lines and down into the lists - my gaze never did get the chance to go back to the top lines LOL (really!) ... so there you have it - I couldn't wait to fire up 5.2b and so I did!! It's 5.2b for me now or nothing (I kept muttering to myself)!! LOL Seriously though, I'm running the 5.2b3 version with no problems so far, and I don't expect I'll have one of any consequence if past history is a gauge. I should add that I've never had a problem with any PowerMail version concerning my hefty but trimmed 202MB database (fingers not crossed too). ;) I've not found (yet) any references in this list with regards to dangerous happenings suffered by other folk who've upgraded from 5.1; is it safe to assume that most users have had a trouble-free conversion or have I missed something there too?!
