As far as I know, PM adopts whatever the default folder icon used by the finder is set to. Candybar (which I also use) changes this default, so the folders in PM will change also. I don't know if there is any way to separate the two (finder and PM); If you are using Candybar I think that you might just have to accept that PM's folders ride on the back of the finder's ones, and look for a compromise that you like to look at both in the finder and in PM's lists.
