I'm seeing this differently than the others, who are MUCH smarter than I am, so I must be missing something obvious. You say you go to your "Out Tray" and click on the email there. What's it doing in your Out Tray? That means that you haven't sent the email yet, doesn't it? If you haven't sent it, the attachment is an alias that needs to find the original file before the email can be sent. If the original volume has been unmounted, the email cannot be sent at all. While it would be better for PM to give an error report rather than run the spinning cursor forever, clearly your solution is to SEND your mail before unmounting volumes. ---Jay
