Back in 2003 I converted a large email database from Claris Emailer to
PM. I encountered many frustrations with the conversion process until I
purchased Emailchemy <http://www.weirdkid.com/> to manage my export/
import process. I used Emailchemy to export my Emailer database to a
standard unix format, which PM imported very nicely.

My PM database now has over 35,000 messages in 200 folders. It is
amazingly fast on searches, works nicely with SpamSieve to filter the
junk, and is very reliable.
