This might sound silly... but are you sure you're using 5.1?  I say this
because if you have PowerMail as a "Startup Item", but forgot to point it
to the new PowerMail 5.1 application, then OS X will load the old version
EVEN if you moved the application somewhere different.  This happened to
me a few days ago :-)  Just a thought...
