Yeah, I reduced mine to 10 days from 30 so this won't happen to me next
month :-) 

I'm still puzzled why the sudden performance decrease.  I've never
touched that setting and my email volume is, if anything, lower than it
used to be.  But whatever... I got it back to a state that I find
comfortable and that is the important thing.
