Hi all.

My sister is planning (with my encouragement and needling) to switch from
her old PC to a nice new iMac. Hurrah, is of course the cry that goes up.
But it's proving tricky, mainly because she uses AOL and I'm trying to
figure out how she can move her archived AOL mail (in her Personal Filing
Cabinet on the PC) and address book to a 'normal' format. After hours
looking at web sites I'm increasingly of the opinion that it's going to
be a nightmare.

Does anybody have any experience in moving from AOL to normal email, and
shifting their stored info from one to the other? By the way, she'll be
shifting over to Apple Address Book and Mail, so this is slightly off
topic, but if I can't ask you folks about an email conversion question,
who can I ask? I know how to get Mail to access her AOL account, so
that's no problem, but it's the legacy mail that poses the problem.

Anybody have any bright ideas?
Oh, and she'll probably be leaving AOL soon, but one problem at a time, I
think.

Cheers;
Rick
