I have a serious problem. It happens sometimes that, due to a system crash, PowerMails indexes need to be rebuilt. However some way through this process PowerMail crashes. The index that is thus partially rebuilt is usable, but incomplete. Newly incoming messages are being indexed, but they disappear from the index on the next rebuild.
The result of all of this is that I have an index that is increasingly becoming out of date. The situation is unacceptable: the database contains 170 K messages and I use it on a daily basis for my research. The index, I have been able to establish, stops at june 8th (with the somewhat strange exception of 3 messages from later months being in the index) then resumes last week when the index was rebuilt the last time. I have rebuilt the database and I also did a low level rebuild more than once, all to no avail. I would like to ask if someone can help me, if there is some tool which can find a problem message maybe, which is deemed ok for the db rebuild routine, but makes the indexing routine crash. If not I will have to dig and try to locate it with a number of searches. The best thing however would be if somehow CTM Development would fix this problem in the program itself. Jan M.J. Storms
