I have noticed this behavior as well. It seems to be associated with which "Reply" button you use. If you choose the one in the Browser tool bar you get what you described. If you choose the "Reply" from the tool bar in the actual mail message (2-pane view), this does not happen. The reply opens on top of the original, which stays beneath the new message. --Ira
