(Apologies if we've been here before - I know there have been a few holy wars on closely related topics, but...)
How about making the HTML-viewing preference selectable on a folder-by- folder basis (maybe as one of the View Options)? That way, if a particular mailing list or correspondent insists on sending HTML mails and you're not in a position to argue, you could enable it just for them, without the security risk of switching it on globally. The 'globe' icon at the bottom of the browser is great, but this would be even more convenient. Of course, I'm exercising the customer's privilege of totally ignoring any practical programming difficulties this raises :) TimH
