What I meant to convey was that the underlying OS X framework chosen for the app, whether it's Cocoa or Carbon or anything else, has no direct bearing on how fast it is or how well it performs in any particular arena. Furthermore, it would be a colossal waste of man hours to re-write the entire app in Cocoa just for the sake of it.
