Hi Jérôme,

thanks for the suggestion. However, it was something else. The
'unexpectedly quit' symptome even prevailed when the PowerMail User
Folder was empty. So it had to be something user-specific, but on system
level. I used a tool to delete all local system caches and, surprise
surprise, new windows open again in PowerMail, without crashing the
application. No idea how and which cache got currupted.

So, all is well again and my wife is back to heavy powermailing ;-)
