Yes, sometimes this does actually work, but often surprisingly not. Also there are sometimes clashes with stored email addresses. Perhaps this a part of the problem? For instance when I copy the address "André <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" from a message and paste that into the field in a new message, PM instead chooses an existing address, "Andrea Olausson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]"> on tab out. Hardly what I intended. Are there no known bug reports in this area? If not, I can compile some more real life examples later. Is there some way I can send you my stored address data not in the addressbook and other related data without sending my complete DB?
