An extremely good and reliable free POPmail service is found at <http:// www.gmx.com/>. Or, directly at: <http://www1.gmx.net/de/cgi/produkte?LANG=de&AREA=freemail> A German service, and you'll need to be able to struggle through the German application form. Also, you need a valid German address (any valid address will do -- I searched the web for "Hotel + Germany"..). I've used this service for a year, and it's very fast and reliable (more than 15 million accounts) PLUS you don't get any spam mail at all! Well, they do "spam" you yourself -- you can expect half a dozen German offers from GMX themselves each month (!) but that's it. No lines added to your messages or anything. I have 3 different GMX accounts which have never been publicly exposed, and I have yet not received one single spam mail on any of them!! Before this, I tried HotPOP, Hotmail, Yahoo and a dozen other free services. They are all completely worthless in comparison. The GMX speed and reliability is always 100%. Guess it has to do with that famous "German Efficiency"... :-) Anyhow, this is the only free POP service I can recommend without hesitation. Max G
