Try looking in your Internet control panel under the 'Advanced' tab. If you don't see an 'Advanced' tab, go to Edit/User Mode, and choose 'Advanced'. This should make the 'Advanced' tab show up. Click on the icon for 'Helper Apps', and see if the list shows Internet Explorer for any of the URL types that you are having problems with. You can either click on the item and 'Remove' it, or change it to another application.
