I found that even quitting wasn't helping. I was hearing drive access on every click, and constant stalls and spinning beach balls. Then I remembered that I could rebuild the database. I quit and relaunched, holding down command-option. The rebuild screen comes up and I selected everything in the top section except the low level rebuild (figuring I could do that later if I had to). It took a few minutes and when it was done, PM was smooth and fast again. No spinning beach balls, instant response with little to no disk churning. -- Judi Sohn http://www.momathome.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.momathome.com/viewfromhome (weblog) iChat/AIM: JudiS217
