========================================== <http://www.powermailtech.com/pm4.2fc.sit> ========================================== This release is NOT public; it is exclusively aimed at members of the PowerMail-discuss and PowerMail-testing lists, as well as to folks who kindly tested b1 and reported items that we may have fixed below: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What's new in the PowerMail 4.2b3/final candidate (from version 4.2b1) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Fixed a crash which would occur opn launching the application stright off the disk image - Corrected the inability to search when the mail browser was open with no selected folder - Fixed the display of high-level explanation text for typical OS Errors (i.e. disk full, etc...) - Includes a new 30-day trial period for folks who had previously expired their 30-day evaluation in an earlier version of PowerMail 4 - The toolbar's "Find" button now brings up Find by Content again - Fixe the Japanese-language bug introduced in b1 - Shortened the launch time - Accelerated the selection of a message within a folder or list view that would contain thousands of messages - Removes an earlier limitation in PowerMail whereby a folder or list view would only properly display its first 65535 or 32767 messages - Added two more repair cases inside the "Verify consistency of database records" option of PowerMail First Aid, for the following potential problems: + when the number of messages / unread messages displayed (or the bold status of the folder) for a given folder is wrong + when there is an error "DB error 7 in 9" when opening the mail browser, or if some mail folders seem to have disappeared - Now includes french-language localization Known limitations: - Some b1-introduced IMAP problems are currently being fixed - The final version will also have other localized languages - This release is not packaged as a disk image but simply as a Stuffit archive * * * * * * * Please discuss your findings either: - on the PowerMail discussion list - using the "Send a message to PowerMail support" option in the Help menu of registered versions - if needed, by private post to us at [EMAIL PROTECTED] We are especially interested in possible crash logs with the situations that might have lead to them, are also of interest.
