I do have the 10.2.6 combo upgrade I downloaded prior to my system going wonky. I had avoided the 10.2.5 upgrade because of the fairly consistent problems I'd read about. > PowerMail does depend on the operating system; I had a situation the > other day where I couldn't drag and drop anything within PowerMail > before > it happened system wide; but sure enough it was a system problem not a > PowerMail problem. > > In the meantime try shutting down your computer and restarting from > scratch. It's supposed to fix some stuff on start up. Thanks, Barbara. It does seem that I've been through quite a few startup cycles already (most of which were followed by a Repair Permissions session), but perhaps I need to do a real shutdown for the night and see how things are in the morning. Yes, I'd read that, too. Fortunately, I'd downloaded the full combo updaters when they were available and saved them on my disk. > I had problems with the "blue screen of sudden quit an restart all > apps" > in 10.2.6, so I went back to 10.2.5. It may have been my system though. If I recall correctly, I did install the 10.2.6 upgrade and started having problems which contributed to my decision to do a complete erase and install of 10.2 followed by the 10.2.4 combo upgrade. But I'm still having system-wide problems, so I may have to look elsewhere for those causes. It does seem a stretch that an OS problem would prevent me from opening the PM database, but I don't know enough to eliminate that as a cause, either.
