If you loose your key, you can't receive new emails, but you can read
your old messages.

"The latest PowerMail upgrade is a but pricey, yes. But the application
has a nice feature set, even without a built-in spellchecker. (Frankly,
I can't understand why the spell checker issue irks so many people,
because Excaliber integrates seamlessly with PowerMail.) As for the
price, don't buy it if you object to paying the fee. Use one of the
free e-mail applications if you prefer, but know this: you are missing
out on one of the best OSX apps. PowerMail is not only MUCH faster at
indexing than Apple Mail, it doesn't hang on some headers the way Mail
does. In other words, it retrieves your mail faster. Finally, call me a
sucker if you like, but if we don't support small development teams like
the one that makes and markets PowerMail, the software universe will be
dominated by companies that specialize in overpriced, buggy and
unsatisfying "bloatware." I won't name names, but I think you get the
picture. ;->"
