I got a little freebee which sits in the menubar - mail ticker (got it from version tracker).
it will display a little icon in the menu bar (osX) with amount of new messages (resettable) and if I click on it I see the exact amount per account and title/sender. This way I KNOW I don't have to go and read if it tells me 17 new messages from my list account (i.e. [EMAIL PROTECTED]), but if it comes from my business account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), I can instantly open PM (via mail ticker) and get the message then. It also helps me in those (for me very rare) situations that I have to delete a message from the server, as it allows me to do this. Great utility. Only drawback (for me) - sometimes it will crash/hang while checking my 3rd account (out of 4) and thus block the popaccount. quitting and relaunching handles that, and nothing I will complain about for the amount of service I've gotten already out of it as a freebee. ---marlyse >I think what people want is a number of new mails received such as >Apple's Mail does. [In a circle right in the icon while it is in the >dock.] The animation does fine for me. But perhaps they want to wait >until there are, say, 10 new e-mails before they bother looking at any.
