With the RC of 5.5. If I copy something from Powemail, when switch to Tex-Edit <http://www.tex-edit.com/>, I eventually get an error of "Nothing can be pasted from the clipboard" after a few seconds of complete slowdown. This didn't happen with 5.2. I can paste into other apps from PowerMail just fine, and can paste from other apps into Tex- edit just fine.
