To add to Barbara's great reply... I have over 50,000 messages in my PowerMail database, and the database size is currently less than 350 MB. I also bought eMailer when Guy told us to. I encountered lots of problems converting to PowerMail until I discovered Emailchemy, that is definitely the way to go.
