Considering that this regards PM exporting to the actual Mail mbox
format, one could be led to believe that there would be a standard way
in that format to set read/unread status. If there actually is such a
possibility I'm not sure, however. This status could possibly be set
somewhere else inside Mail.

One way to know would be to export from Mail and see if an import back
to a newer version retain this status. When I tried this with mail 2.1
it was NOT retained, indicating the problem is with the Mail mbox format
and not with the PowerMail mbox export. Do you actually have any valid
reason to think otherwise, Rick?
