I backup all my data on a daily bases with SuperDuper! and this was very
helpful already.

well then simply use a test environment.
Once converted, you can't downgrade your database anymore.
It's a decision you have to make for yourself.

I just can assure you, that in daily live PM6 works very well and PM6
increased in speed a lot compared to PM5.
