With increased frequency, I am receiving email messages of gibberish --
in the subject and the body.

I suspect they might be in an Asian character set, but I have no luck
translating them. If I copy and paste into a translation site, trying
various forms of Chinese or Japanese, it still comes back as gibberish.

Which brings me to a PowerMail question. Can I change the character set
to view a single received message at a time? Or must a character
encoding apply to all messages in my database?

Richard Hart

Check the "Mail" > "Text Encoding" menu while viewing the message in
question. I believe it is designed for this type of need.

imho this doesn't work with headers (subject).

Maybe the OT can post such a message including header on the list?

Thanks and all the best
