I paid for upgrade to 6.0 over two and a half weeks ago, was sent a
key, it didn't work. i've double-clicked, dragged, etc. the PM Key
icon. PM just wants to make an attachment out of it. sometime is opens
up Terminal. sometimes i can open as a text message and see the code,
but can't do anything with it.

the icon appears as a generic executable file by default. i've never
seen this type of registration, so don't know what else to do.

I emailed CTM the same day. no response.

i emailed again, filled out the support form, tried other email
addresses, called Kagi software (they can't help because they don't
send out the key). NO RESPONSE.

so my database is already upgraded and i cannot send/receive mail
through PM. with 9 email accounts, my productivity is shot. and CTM
hasn't responded to 6 requests.

does anyone have any idea how to get them to respond?
i just want my registration code. (email to: shop [at] urbanpeace.net)

or by some amazing chance has anyone had this problem and can tell me
how to register PM 6?

any help would be exhilarating at this point.

Hi,

You're way ahead of me....I also paid for the upgrade - at least I think
I did - but I have not been sent a key. I still love PowerMail, but
sometimes the quirky support is a little too quirky.

Meanwhile, have you tried dragging the PM key icon on to the PowerMail
application icon? That's how it used to work.

I had the same problem December 3rd. The thing i noticed was that the
key they sent the name did not match the name of the key in the
attachment for the actual key. I had to wait a couple days believe there
was a weekend involved. However they did send me a replacement key. This
time the name in the letter matched the attachment they sent for the key.

I bet I know what it is.... Which email client did you receive the PMKey
file with? It's a text file and some mail clients screw with the line
endings. Try opening the file with TextWrangler and change the line
endings to Mac.

PM should be able to deal with any line endings, but has had this bug
for years.

The issues with HTML messages described below still persist in 6.0.1b1.

Functionally, the most severe bug is with the duplicated header text
being inserted into the reply.

Great! I did recognize the problem. Ctmdev used to be service minded,
lately very occupied with updates.

I never used Automator before either, just did a search on type/creator
change and ended up with that.

Glad to help out!

This will be fixed in the final 6.0.1.

Unfortunately, mixing a WebKit view with PowerPlant views is problematic
(that's why clicking URLs or selecting text does not work reliably in
the HTML view). So we chose to insert the header as HTML data, instead
of using the same header view that we embed in the plain text view.
