Well, I looked into using Mail way back in System 10.2, and when I
recently did an overhaul of my computer a few months back, I re-examined
it by importing my PowerMail database into Mail.

What I noticed is that for every mailbox, there is this little clock
that fills in as Mail gathers all the information for that mailbox. It
is similar to the little circle in Address Book as it is gathering
information from or putting information onto my .mac account.

What seemed to be the case with Mail was that every time I needed to see
something, this little clock would appear, and I would have to wait
while Mail looked for things. And, if I did a search, the search would
give me bad results until Mail "was ready", but it didn't make clear to
me that the search was not accurate.

I depend on the fact that a search, when complete, is complete, and if
it isn't complete, then the app will make it clear to me that the search
wasn't complete.

However, I would switch to Mail in a heartbeat if I thought it could
manage and search through my extensive email database as well as
PowerMail does.
