This happens to me as well: PM 6.1.5 build. This generally happens when
download of many when downloads sticks. I generally disconnect and connect and
rest downloads.

I wish this was the worst that's been happening after years of trouble-free PM!
Twice within the past 3-4 months I've clicked on PM on my Mac Mini to find a
chunk of mail missing--generally 2-3 months of recent mails.

The first time was the worst event and my Mail browser was an old temp with all
my folders of saved mails gone. I was able to rectify that with Time Machine
and CTM help. This last event, a fe weeks ago, I just had a relatively recent
chunk of time missing and I was not able to rectify this with Time Machine.

I must admit that for the first time ever, I've been on PM since Claris Email
(should anyone remember that far back), I have considered looking for a
replacement.

When I left Emailer, I immdiately went to PowerMail and rarely have had
problems. Maybe regularly compacting your database and search index would help
you.
