My computer is an iMac running OS 10.9 Mavericks and PowerMail v 6.2.1 build
4668.

I don't know how long it has been going on, but I have just noticed what may be
a serious problem with PM.

As an example, my son sent me an email, I opened the email, wrote a reply and
sent it to him. But, when I then looked for my son's original mail in my
In-Tray to move it with my reply to a different folder, it had disappeared.

When I used command-F to search "in selected folder (In Tray) only" for all
emails with my son's name included in the From field, nothing happened.

When I do the same search "in all local mail folders", all by son's emails for
the past 15 years are listed, including the lost one. The list also indicated
that many of them, including the lost email, *were* in the In-Tray.

I have been through the "Compact Database', "Update Search index" and "Compact
Search Index" routines and searched the settings in PM's Preferences for an
explanation.

After the above, I had exactly the same experience today with an email from my
sister except that it disappeared when I only read the email without writing a
reply.

I tested the above by opening an unimportant email in my In-Tray, read it and
closed it again. Opened the Out-Tray then back to the In-Tray. Sure enough the
email has disappeared from my In-Tray.

Restarted the computer and repeated the previous test with the same result.

Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone have an explanation?

Thanks,
Frank
