For FENOC, the answers are:
1. For those utilities that have Nuclear Safety Review Board
(NSRB) subcommittees, which subcommittee reviews/monitors Radiation
Protection and Chemistry activities?
Radiation Protection is included in the Maintenance
Sub-Committee. Chemistry is in the Operations sub-committee.
2. Does your NSRB have its own subcommittee for RP and/or
Chemistry?
No. The groups are part of the Maintenance or Operations
sub-committee.
3. If your company’s NSRB does not utilize or have subcommittees,
is there an established frequency or structure to the review of RP
and Chemistry activities? Is RP and Chemistry routinely reported at
NSRB meetings or on an “as needed”/“for cause” basis?
The CNRB (our lingo) visits on a quarterly basis. They review
performance indicators, condition reports and the manager for the
area normally provides a presentation on performance. A report
(debriefing) to company executives occurs afterwards.
