North Anna places head dosimetry on the worker's head. We either tape the whirl pack onto their PC hood or use a vendor supplied dosimetry hood with a pocket.

Currently, when we require the workers to re-locate their OSL and EPD to the head we place the dosimetry in a whirl pack and tape it to the outside of the hard hat. We sometimes see dose gradients during refuel for head disassembly and reassembly which require re-location of the dosimetry. We are getting some push back from the work group that this is a safety concern and that other plants do not monitor the head location in this manner. Any information you could share would be appreciated.
