PCM's (beta/gamma portal monitors like a PCM1B or PCM2 or other): 15 During
Outage, 11 Non outage

Gamma Portal Monitors (like a PM-7 or other): 7

Ion Chamber Dose Rate Survey Meter
(e.g., Eberline RO2, RO2A; Bicron RSO5, RSO50)
Beta,Gamma 11

High Range Ion Chamber Dose Rate Survey Meter
(e.g., Eberline RO7) Gamma 2

Telescoping Dose Rate Survey Meter (e.g., Eberline 6112) Gamma 4

Contamination Survey Meter with End Window or Pancake GM Probe
(e.g., Ludlum Model 177, Model 2)
Beta, Gamma 24

Neutron Dose Rate Survey Meter (e.g., ASP-1/NRD) Neutron 2

Contamination Survey Meter with Scintillation Detector
(e.g., Ludlum Model 3 with 43-5 probe) Alpha 2

These are the minimum number required to be on hand to meet our FSAR
requirements. Normally we have additional numbers of instruments calibrated and
ready to issue than the numbers provided above.

Subject: Powernet: Number of hand held meters for a given plant

Greetings All,

I am trying to determine how many instruments are maintained for use at a
typical nuclear station. If you could give numbers for the listings below for
your station that would be great. I will make the averages available for
anyone interested. I don't need a probe breakdown or models, just approximate
numbers (SWAG's OK).

PCM's (beta/gamma portal monitors like a PCM1B or PCM2 or other):
Gamma Portal Monitors (like a PM-7 or other):

Hand helds
Dose Rate (meters with internal probes or those that use external probes for
dose rate):
Count rate:

Lab counters

Gamma Spec:

Thanks,

Rob
