Subject: Powernet: Quick Hit for Sources

Progress Energy's Brunswick site would appreciate responses to the
following:

Questions on Chemistry/Count Room radioactive check source controls:

1. Please describe how your radioactive check sources are
stored/arranged inside the source storage cabinet.  For example;

* Are they randomly placed on the shelves? No

* Are they in individual trays? We have a source locker with
drawers. Sources are assigned a location in the drawers. Most RP
response checks are located in a single drawer to make it convenient for
them. A few, because of size are located in another drawer.

2. If the source storage cabinet is located inside the chemistry
lab/count room area, do you require technicians to log in/out the
sources for intra-lab use? yes

Thank you for your time...
