Bob,

V. C. Summer currently uses MIDAS, but plans to change to URI RASCAL in 2012 or
as soon as we can get our IT people involved.
We have not changed within the last 2 years.
Our planned change to RASCAL will address several long-standing problems we
have experienced using MIDAS, so it is either spend the money to fix MIDAS to
make it the way it should be or go to a new platform, like RASCAL.

Subject: Powernet: Dose Assessment Software

Duke Energy would appreciate any information you would provide on the following
questions:

1) What software dose your site/EOF use for off-site dose assessment to
the public (e.g., RASCAL, RADDOSE, MIDAS, home grown, etc.)?

2) Has your site/company changed to a different software within the
previous 2 years?

3) IF the answer to question 2 is yes, would you briefly state why the
change was made?

Thanks in advance for your time.
