Scott,

North Anna uses a neutron correction factor based on the neutron energy
spectrum at our site. We previously used a correction factor of 0.5 for low
energy and 1.0 for high energy applications. After extensive testing utilizing
REM-500s, TLDs, and DMC-2000GNs we have gone back to a correction factor of
1.0. We do not include a bias (similar to the 15% bias we add to the
DMC-2000S) with our neutron dosimeters.

Overall, we see up to a +25% bias between our neutron DAD and TLD readings. We
do calibrate the DMC-2000GNs on site with an AmBe source.

Give me a call if you have any questions.

Subject: Powernet: Neutron ED bias

Sorry to repeat a query from someone else, but I cannot find my thread of
responses.

Concerning MGP 2000GN EDs:

What do you use for a bias on neutron calibration? (+10%, +20%, +40%, etc...)
Does your bias incorporate or is in addition to a 30% bias for those calibrated
by MGP (calibration in France)?
Do you have different bias for different areas? (DryWell, ISFSI, etc)

Thank you,

Scott Huneycutt
