Subject: Powernet: Radioactive Material Control Inside Primary Chemistry
Lab

I would appreciate your help answering these questions. Thanks!!!

Do chemistry technicians perform RCS (and other contaminated sample)
sample preparation and analysis activities inside a posted contamination
area or do their qualifications allow them to perform these chemistry
activities outside of a posted Contamination Area?

Sample preparation is done inside of a Contaminated Area.

Does your site have Contaminated Areas within the primary lab that are
designated only by Contamination Area tape (e.g., on a lab counter where
contaminated samples are handled)?

Yes.

Does your site have contaminated areas within the primary chemistry lab
that are roped off as a posted Contamination Area with a Step Off Pad?

No.
