A hot spot is defined as a local source of radiation with a contact radiation 
level which is
100 mrem/hr or greater and is greater than or equal to five times the radiation 
level 30cm.

Our procedure gives an out for posting hot spots “per HP supervision” if the 
dose received would “not be consistent with ALARA”.
