For skin dose Fermi uses VARSKIN 3, and REMedy for internal dose. However we think internal dose is easy to calculate using NUREG/CR-4884 retention factors and Federal Guidance Report 11 dose factors. If there were multiple body counts, NUREG/CR-4884 and Reg Guide 8.9 provide a chi square method to address this. (Also we think that while the more conservative ingestion dose factors are normally used, for Co-60 and Co-58 the factors corresponding to f1=5E-2 are justified.)

At Ginna we are currently using: Internal Dose Assessment INDOS Internal Dosimetry Code, Version 1.0, 1987, © 1987 Skrable Enterprises Inc. This is a DOS-based program which our IT tells us does not interface well with Windows 7 and requires a dot matrix printer to print the output.
