North Anna does not use a correction factor for attenuation/transmission/self absorption factor for alpha analysis for particulate air samples. Our calibration sources are made utilizing the same air sampling media patches. This eliminates the use of a separate correction factor since this is built into our instrument's efficiency (G-5020 and iSolo) during calibration.
We do have correction factors for liquid samples counted for alpha. Barbara J.
