I was wondering if any nuclear (plants) facilities are using Non-NIOSH
equipment for protection against facial contamination. I know that in 2007, a
nuclear facility was cited (NCV)for using non-NIOSH approved PAPRs to relieve
heat stress and limit the number of facial contaminations.

If you do use NON-NIOSH equipment to prevent facial contaminations:

1) What type do you use?

2) Do you document its use in any way?

3) Who controls the device or cleans/sanitizes it, if it is non-disposable?

4) If it has a blower (similar to a PAPR or MaxAir) who is responsible for
ensuring that the batteries are changed?

Thanks for any information you can furnish.
