Questions for folks at BWRs that have implemented Online Noble-Metal Chemistry.

Since implementation of Online Noble-Metal Chemistry have you seen Au-199 in
your Rx water (158 KeV Line)?
Do you see this line in your effluent samples (Charcoal Cartridge [CC] or
Particulate Filter[PF])?
If you see the 158 KeV line, and do not attribute it to Au-199, what was your
logic?
We have seen this (158 KeV) line in RB SPING samples, but only on the CC.
Furthermore, recounts seem to indicate that it decays away quicker than the 3.1
day half-life would suggest. Au-199 was expected (per GE) and we do see it in
Rx water.

If you wish to contact me directly, please email me at [email protected]
as I am currently working nights for the outage.

Thank you in advance.

Barry

1. A pneumatic HIC lid closure tool.
2. Yes
3. If the HIC is inside a concrete shield and you use camera along with
the pneumatic HIC lid closure tool you can meet the match marks for closure
using very little dose.

VCS would appreciate a response to the following:

1. Does your site use a pneumatic HIC lid closure tool or a manual HIC
lid closure tool?

2. If your site uses a pneumatic HIC lid closure tool, can HIC lid
closure be completely performed remotely?

3. While using a pneumatic HIC lid closure tool, how much of a dose
reduction has been accomplished?
